The Watchman….
The end draweth near, the watchman cries,
yet the trump has yet to sound.
The enemy rages, to devour what he will,
as the faithful dwindles down.
We stand at the brink of the very last day,
so few to heed the criers dark words,
as he laments the loss of man.
How long, O Lord, before the trump is sound,
and the call to Your glory is known?
The battle rages, in the street, with words,
yet soon shall turn the weapons of war,
the sword of Your word, to bullets blast.
Such innocence of the world, led astray by lies,
and the excited actions of fools.
Self seeking glorifiers, standing out in a crowd,
proclaiming their own greatness to the world.
How long, dear Lord, will you tarry in coming,
’til the last of the righteous fall?
To cling to Your word is all that is left,
in this world torn by hate and lust.
The hopeful cry out for want of your glory,
the unveiling of Your Spirit in power.
We seek Your strength in this darkened time,
and flock to Your name as a tower.
The lines are drawn, the battle begun,
the innocent lay dying in the street,
Children torn living from their mother’s womb,
cast out to feed the ravenous birds of prey.
How long, O Lord, my just and loving King,
shall we be left to the devil’s hand?

It is a shame, God intended for man to speak His word, but how can one speak of the need for salvation without telling the world of sin being wrong…. and when we do that, it is considered being judgmental. It seems odd, all that God has done for us, and if we seek to follow His will, we as Christians are condemned by the world.
Ask yourself, who would you rather Judge you now. Man’s judgment is only words, that may lead to conviction, but — look at the facts some time — God’s judgment is eternal…
About JesusPuppy
Born in Kansas, with only basic education and learning, Ed Pennewell sought a Godly life in the world, and from the sorrow there, has placed his thoughts to written words. Taking the name JesusPuppy while in the mission field, his greatest goal in life has been to show God’s love and light to all he meets. He places his heart in the things he writes, in hopes they touch an other’s life and bring them hope. JesusPuppy is a simple man, working as a carpenter while writing praise to the Lord, living on the Northwest coast of United States of America. I love your poems. They always speak to me. Don’t ever think you cannot share through poetry.
My favourite verse:
The hopeful cry out for want of your glory,
the unveiling of Your Spirit in power.
We seek Your strength in this darkened time,
and flock to Your name as a tower
