There are many reasons to fear Obamacare, starting with the fact that they dropped the documents Saturday, June 6th, 2009, on the anniversary of D-Day, while B. Hussein Obama was at “Obama Beach”. The politics of deceit are at it again. The first thing after the title is this: [Note: Further revisions are needed to complete the work of integrating provisions into the existing HIPAA structure.]. That ought to scare you. They are going to pass a HUGE spending bill when we are out of money, and it isn’t even in final, legal form.

Speaking of legal, did you know that this bill will eliminate the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution, the one about illegal search and seizure.

It says:

(1) IN GENERAL – A State shall keep an accurate accounting of all activities, receipts, and expenditures of any Gateway operating in such State and annually submit to the Secretary a report concerning such accountings.
(2) INVESTIGATIONS – The Secretary may investigate the affairs of a Gateway, may examine the properties and records of a Gateway, and may require periodical reports in relation to activities undertaken by a Gateway. A Gateway shall fully cooperate in any investigation conducted under this paragraph.

Now, keep in mind “Gateway” refers to provider. The other two things to keep in mind is that section one eliminates the 10th Amendment of the Constitution, as it mandates what the state must do, whether they want to or not and does not allow for expenses to cover it. Section two wipes out the fourth amendment. The feds can demand records and perform searches at their discretion and healthcare providers have no way to prevent it.

Since “our” records of health are kept at our healthcare providers (Gateway) office, our right to privacy under HIPAA is gone. Remember, they still need to revise the bill to include language to get around that pesky privacy thing. What does this really mean? Well, let’s say you are diagnosed with diabetes at age 45 and the doctors says, “lose some weight”. You come back six months later and haven’t lost any weight. Your records can now be viewed by the government and they can decide not to treat you, based on your trouble in losing weight. Could it happen? Yes. Will it happen? I do not know, but I do know that the government has tried its hand at healthcare already (twice) and screwed it up. Ask any vet about the VA and their experiences and treatment, then take a look at the mess Medicare and Medicaid are. Scare you? It does me.

It is time to hit the phones, faxes, emails and personal visits to stop this madness before the entire Constitution is trashed.
