Fire David Axelrod:
Senior Advisor to President Obama is a federal employee. Mr. Axelrod admittedly sent out emails to people, using tax payer computers and tax payer time, in order to promote legislation that is being pushed by his boss, B. Hussein Obama.
If Axelrod was directed to send these emails, on White House letterhead, on tax payer computers, on tax payer time, then for violation of both the federal computer use policy and the policy against performing lobbying or political activity on said property and time, he should be fired. Lower level federal employees have been fired for inappropriate use of work time, resources and computers have been fired. Failure to fire Mr. Axelrod will leave the door open for SEIU and AFSCME to re-open grievances of former employees, based upon disparate treatment. Mr. Axelrod’s supervisor, Mr. Obama should receive the same punishment as other supervisors who condoned such behavior, either suspension without pay or termination/impeachment.
If Axelrod was not directed to perform the above activity, he should be terminated for the same reasons.
Either way, Mr. Axelrod has violated the public trust, the government employee handbook section on ethics and computer use, as well as performed functions not relevant to his position as “advisor” while on taxpayer time, using taxpayer resources.
Fire Mr. Axelrod.

Why does it violate the job description of the senior advisor to the President to use his work computer to try to build support for the President’s legislative agenda?
Isn’t this a case where the usual regulations about not advocating for candidates but being able to advocate for legislation apply?
Perhaps you can enlighten me. Having never been a federal employee, I am not sure of the exact rules that apply.
