Bitterness started to grow in my garden
Little green shoots
So like the grass
But I could see a fullness in the leaves
I knew it was unwelcome
But with the mower I soon
Trimmed the lawn
Short , neat and so tidy
Everything seemed in order
In my garden.
Bitterness reappeared quickly in my garden
Hidden roots thrusting deep
Leaves so proud and tall
Growing faster
than the sweet pasture grass
I tugged at it
Pulled hard ,snapping off the stem
Juice of bitterness stained my fingers
An acrid small harsh in my nostrils
I scrubbed my hands with
Scented soap
All looked clean again
in my garden
Bitterness began to flower in my garden
Bold bright colours
Pleasant pretty petals
A dash of yellow
Among the fresh green
I lingered awhile
Gazing on the scene
Enjoying the sight
I let bitterness dwell
In my garden
Bitterness flourished in my garden
Deeps roots tapping into reservoirs of
Resentment ,anger, pride
The grass became dry and brown
Unnourished, unhealthy
Withered parched and thirsty
As bitterness spread
Across my garden
On day I looked out
On a carpet of white
Beautiful little powder puffs
Cotton wool balls
Feather light tiny globes
Then the breeze blew
One o clock two o’clock, three
Miniature seed parachutes
Floated away in the air
Little deadly missiles
Journeying on a mission
As far as the wind could carry them
Spreading out the bitterness
From my garden
Oh How I need to call the Good Gardener
Come dig deep into my garden
Peirce the soil
Follow the roots to deep places
Pull to free the earth from
The roots of bitterness
There will be bare patches
To be seeded with
Forgiveness peace and mercy
So These sweet fragrant grasses
Grow anew in my garden
