Go very early into the garden
While the world still slumbers
Darkness covering like a blanket
The night air still heavy with God’s tears
Roll away Roll away
Eight long years as if yesterday
Lives changed in an instant
By man’s inhumanity to man
Images replayed throughout history
Pain seared like a brand into hearts and minds
Darkness descended like a cloak
Stifling chocking suffering
Carefully crafted dreams come tumbling down
Shattered pieces of people’s lives
Lying scattered in the dust
Lord send a little light into the darkness
A tiny ray of hope to warm the barren ground
Drop the still dews of your quietness
So they shimmer on the grass like diamonds
Speak gently to your grieving children
Soothe and smooth the gaping wounds
Wrap them carefully with fine linen bandages
Spread tenderly your healing balm
Breathe on them breath of God
Hold you your hand and say
“I AM Here, follow me”
