Austin, TX – On Monday, Dick Armey campaigned with Kay Bailey Hutchison in Brownwood, Lubbock and Amarillo. The former Majority Leader, who represented Texas’ 26th district, was a leading figure in the 1994 Republican Revolution and the Contract with America. He currently serves as the Chairman of FreedomWorks and is a leader in the TEA Party movement.
In their campaign stops, Dick Armey said that Kay Bailey Hutchison is the person we need in the Governor’s Office to keep Texas strong. He cited her record as an effective leader who always fights for Texas and gets results, stating, “Kay’s fought tirelessly for Texas, and as our next Governor, we can trust her to clean up Austin, and take on the challenges facing our state with the conservative, results-oriented approach, for which she is known.”
“I’m so happy to have Dick Armey as part of our campaign. He understands that we need to address our dropout rate, fix our transportation system, and do away with the arrogance and heavy-handedness that we see in the Governor’s Office if we’re going to remain the greatest state in the nation for our children,” said Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Kay is the only candidate in this race who has laid out a clear vision for Texas’ future and a plan to keep our state strong 20 years from now. She has laid out plans to fix Rick Perry’s transportation mess, improve education by tackling the dropout rate head on, secure the border, protect private property rights and keep taxes low. She has also pledged to end the cronyism and mismanagement of our state government under Rick Perry.
Former Majority Leader Dick Armey is one of many conservative leaders who have worked with Hutchison in her fight for Texas and have backed her in her campaign for Governor. He joins other high profile leaders such as President George H.W. Bush, First Lady Barbara Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of State James Baker and the Texas Farm Bureau, a 400,000 member grassroots organization.

Somebody needs to remind Armey that KBH voted to build the border fence in public then behind the scenes she added an amendment to stop the funding for the fence. Does he know how to spell RINO
