We have lost a lot of Soldiers in our town
Just look at the flags flying all around
They are reminders of life already gone
But, the waving flags are their voices cheering us on
It may be over their graves they are flying
But reminding us of why they are dying
They speak volumes to us from the grave
Telling us, our freedom to save
There are more that are willing to give
To make sure the Spirit of Freedom will live
We pray their flag will fly in hand
As they fight for freedom for our land
We pray they will be safe and return again
To live in victory and free from pain
Let their flags remind us of the cost
to keep the Spirit of Freedom from being lost
We must remember to keep the American Dream
Alive and well with our flags being seen
The worst way to bring a spirit of defeat
Would be not seeing flags flying in our street

About Ruby Harris
My name is Ruby Harris. I live near Birmingham, Alabama and I write spiritual lessons from Father God in poetry form. I have to live it to write it. I have been doing this since 1984. I am married and have 4 daughters and 6 grandchildren. Two twenty-one year old grandsons are in the Army together. I have one book published and it was delivered just before my husband had open heart surgery. I have given most of them to Doctors and Nurses and other patients that we come across in our “health adventures”. Two years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer and God has healed me. A year ago He gave me a photo that is so life changing that you have to see it to believe it. Every poem I share I gets the same reaction. Did you write this just for me? It’s amazing from an amazing God.
