COMEDY CENTRAL DEVELOPING SHOW MOCKING JESUS CHRIST

New animated series to depict Jesus Christ as trying to escape the shadow of his “powerful, apathetic father”.

A
few weeks ago the executives who run basic cable’s Comedy Central gave in to
pressure from Muslim groups and chose to edit an episode of South Park which
depicted the Prophet Muhammad dressed in a bear suit. The name “Muhammad” was “bleeped” from the
program after Muslims protested that it was demeaning to the prophet.  Now those same executives at Comedy Central
have announced a brand new animated series in development for its fall schedule called “JC”
about Jesus Christ living in New York City, attempting to escape “the shadow of his powerful,
apathetic father who is preoccupied with video games.”

The
Christian Post
reports, “’An animated show about the adventures of Jesus
Christ. He is risen!’ commented Comedy Central blogger Matt Tobey after “JC”
was announced by Kent Alterman, head of original programming and production at
the network.

“’And by “He” I mean ‘my interest in this television program,’
Tobey added.”

The Hollywood Reporter quotes Alterman as saying, “In general, comedy
in its purest form always makes some people uncomfortable.”

“Not True,” writes William
Donahue
, President of the Catholic League.

“Besides the fact that there is no end to the number of comedians who have
made a huge name for themselves without ever offending anyone, what is even
more relevant is the fact that Comedy Central has absolutely no interest in
making Muslims feel uncomfortable,” Donahue wrote.

“But maybe they’re wrong. Muslims regard Jesus to be a prophet and hold Him in
high regard. They may not be too pleased to learn that one of their revered
figures is going to be ridiculed on Comedy Central. To that end, we (the Catholic League) will
not only contact the Catholic community, we will contact Muslim organizations
as well.”

Aside from the controversy and the expressions of concern over the depiction
of Muhammad as a bear, Comedy Central did not censor the “South Park” episode
until a group called Revolution Muslim basically threatened to murder “South
Park” producers Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
The group warned that Stone and Parker would “probably wind up like Theo
Van Gogh”. Van Gogh
was a Dutch filmmaker murdered in 2004 by Muslim extremists after making a move critical of the way women are treated in Muslim society.

As Christians we won’t make murder threats to prevent this type of blasphemy
from airing on Comedy Central. We should
however, take a firm stand for our faith, and for our savior through Christian
love in expressing our displeasure about the content of this program to Comedy
Central and more importantly to Comedy Central’s advertisers.

“JC” is being developed by Reveille Productions which has brought America shows like “Ugly Betty,” “The Office,” “Biggest Loser” and “Family Guy”.  Comedy Central is owned by Viacom the parent company of  MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, TV Land and Paramount Pictures among many other well known brands.

away from this basic cable channel in droves, not just during the “South Park”
or “JC” time slots, but 24/7.

I doubt
anyone at Comedy Central would be laughing.

    Can you please copy and paste for me where I said anything at all about governing, or who governs, or tried to cause another to live as I do by an implied force?

    I spoke my opinion. I thought you were doing the same. Why are you still entitled to your opinion, and why am I not?

    Why are you allowed to express yourself? Yet when I do so I am living “The way of the Muslim”?

    Do you people ever listen to the insanity that falls from your mouth like vomit from a drunk?

    The tyranny of forcing that compliance is worse than the Sins the tyranny prevents.

    Your way is the way of the Muslim. You wish others to pay dhimmitude to your belief system.

    Not happening, bub. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

    Your way may cause others to not be able to pursue their Happiness.

    The way of Franklin, Adams and Jefferson is better.

    It is a wonder to have such a blessed belief that you would force such a belief upon others?

    As I said, A More Perfect Union, where such differences are set aside for the Common Good. Consider! The founders allowed Catholics to live here when the VAST majority of Americans believed that Catholicism was the work of Satan (c. 1776).

    The only action God requires of us is to accept his son,as our lord and savior and to repent of our sins (confessing them and turning from them) and to then live according to His (God’s) will. Conscience is the double-speak of those who believe in relativism.
