At the regularly scheduled meeting last night
of the Katy ISD Board of Trustees, it was announced that the district
administration has been charged with bringing forth a framework for the
formation of a citizens group to serve as a bond oversight committee.
“One of the critical components of
implementing a bond program is ensuring citizens remain both informed and
involved in the process,” says Judith Snyder, president of the Katy ISD Board
of Trustees. “A Bond Oversight Committee would ensure that the district’s bond
program is implemented in a manner that is consistent with the Long Range
Facilities Plan and the School Facility Referendum Planning Task Force
recommendation.”
The district will bring forward to
the Board a framework that outlines the committee’s charge for Board
consideration.
