Your name is Yeshua and I am Your bride
The first blush of new love
Turns to the inner glow of true love
We have been together a long time
And anniversaries of our love have come and gone
We have shared many delights and untold pleasures side by side
And the depths of our hearts and souls…
Enjoying the repast of our lifetime together now…
You said, ‘come away with Me, again, afresh and anew, as a new bride!’
So we held hands and ran up the flowery vistas
Then down to the ocean to drink its blue love
We parted a moment, to gather the driftwood
And we planned to relight the flame of our passions
But an alarming thick fog rolled in on the sudden
And I lost Your hand’s grip
And the crashing waves muted Your calling…
Hours of despair as I wandered, searching
Brought me now to a weary rest upon the moving sands of time
After days I awoke to find myself transported to a foreign land
A slave with no provision
Forsaken, without hope
Strangers passed by me
Leering and jeering
And I thought for a moment
That the only way out
Was to sell myself to earn enough
Corroded silver coins
To buy my way back
To that place where the driftwood
Was piled up on our shore…
Mid day became blackened that July
And the sun hid its face
As I grieved and fainted
Because of my fate
I don’t know how long that fitful sleep lasted
But I awoke now, my Love
To find You, beaten, stripped,
Spent and worn,
Standing over me
Pouring out a cruet of finest perfumed oil
Upon my wretched being
Redeeming our love
With the still bleeding holes on Your palms
And there I saw the driftwood
And You called down the fire
Which set it ablaze
And we washed in the crashing waters
And dried ourselves, entwined near the glowing bars
Symbols of our seasoned love….
