It happens, oh, so rarely
We join our voice as one,
The people band together
Demanding something done.
It happens, oh, so rarely
Americans agree,
And lifting a united voice
Our freedoms we decree.
Renouncing all divisions,
United we become,
Protection for our land we claim,
For all our land, not some.
It happens, oh, so rarely
In prayer we bow our knees,
When all across the USA
We humbly come to Thee.
The day was nine eleven
When focused we became,
Attacked, we recognized our need
And called upon Your name.
Churches filled their pews,
We lived in fear and doubt,
We even ran to give our blood
To help the needy out.
But nothing’s ever lasting
And now we scream and yell,
Divisions sprouting once again,
Our own agendas sell.
It happens, oh, so rarely
That we in love unite,
That we put truth and honor first
And recognize our plight.
Founded on Your values
Our country could be proud,
But peace again will not be known
‘Til on our knees we’ve bowed.
“If my people who are called by My name shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave and require of necessity My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14 (Amplified Version)
