SERIOUSLY BLESSED

I’m blessed, yes, I’m seriously blessed

Though days are oft shadowed with pain,
For God can still use me whatever my state,
No life in Him e’er lived in vain.
How can I color my words
To speak of the joy that it brings,
To know I am useful whatever my state,
Lifted up on eternity’s wings?
I’m blessed, yes, seriously blessed
For God holds the reins in His hands,
No reason to worry, no cause for despair,
Regardless, He has my life planned.
He knew long ago what would happen,
To Him it has been no surprise,
For I am no failure, it’s part of the plan,
My trials His grace emphasize.
For trials allow us a platform,
A stage that is oft heaven sent,
A reason to point to the Savior
Whose mercies our life represents.
The pain in my life is no detour,
But part of His plan from the start,
It’s no disadvantage that I must endure,
My platform, direct from His heart.
I’m blessed, yes, seriously blessed,
In His design, I thus stand firm,
A stage He created or He has allowed,
His love and my purpose affirmed.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
