It’s alright.
Lift your head
and look into my eyes.
The pain you are suffering
will only last a moment.
The tears you are crying
will soon pass away,
and even though you may not think so,
you will become stronger,
a new person with a new story.
It’s alright.
I’m here,
have always been,
will always be,
even when you feel
like you don’t need me,
which you will.
Take my hand,
tell your story
to those who’ve never known
what you now know.
Give them hope.
Look into my eyes
my child,
and I will help
you walk boldly
into this new day,
this new brightness,
this marvelous journey
unfolding like waves of the sea.

Andrew lives in Smyrna, TN., with his beautiful wife and three beautiful children. His first book, For You, was published in April 2011. His second collection, Limitless,
