HOUSTON, TX – What would you do with 15,000 pounds of snow?
When
we think of winter in Houston, we have visions of snow and snowmen, but
the weather rarely cooperates to create a winter wonderland.
We
can’t guarantee snow for the holiday season, so the Houston Zoo is
taking matters into their own hands. The Houston Zoo and Sunny 99.1 are
creating a Snow Day!
On Saturday, December 17, 2011 the lawn next
to the Houston Zoo’s okapi habitat will be blanketed with 15,000 pounds
of snow. From 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Zoo guests invited are to play,
build snowmen and win cool prizes. Snow Day is free with your paid Zoo
admission or Zoo Membership.
Enjoy a special holiday concert by Leah White and the Magic Mirrors from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Zoo’s Reflection Pool. Leah White and the Magic Mirrors are a Zoo-favorite and winners of the 2009 Nickelodeon Parent’s Choice Award.
