WALLER ISD BOARD MEETS IN DECEMBER REGULAR MEETING

WALLER ISD – During the regular meeting of the Waller ISD Board of Trustees held December 12th, the Board recognized the Waller High School Cross Country Team, Volleyball Team, and

Football 17-4A District Honors. Katrina Fite advanced to the Cross Country Regionals, and the volleyball team advanced to the Region Semifinals in the State Playoffs. The Waller High School FFA Program was also recognized for their advancement to the State Leadership Contest. The Jr. Quiz Team placed 2nd at the event and the Senior Quiz Team 7th.

After the recognitions, the Consent Agenda and Regular Agenda followed. The Consent Agenda was approved as amended. In Regular Agenda, proposed Waller High School Course Selection for the 2012-2013 school year and consideration for a Special Called Board Meeting Date for the Superintendent Evaluation was considered. The motion carried with all Board Members voting “Yes” for the Regular Agenda Items.

In Information Items, Superintendent Danny Twardowski provided an update from the Waller County Election Office. Twardowski discussed the approximate cost of the Board of Trustees Election in May as well as possible locations. He noted that The Elections Office will be updating the Board in the coming months. The Board was given a copy of TASB Update 92 to review. Board President David Kaminski read the Waller ISD Board Member Continuing Education Report. Continuing Education is required for all elected public officials.

Important dates noted were December 20th – Early Dismissal for Winter Holiday; December 21-January 2 – Winter Break; January 3-4 – Student Holiday/Staff Development; January 9 – Regular Called Meeting; January 19 – Martin Luther King Holiday; January 23 – Superintendent Collaborative Meeting and Dinner and Special Called Board Meeting.
