SPRING ISD SCHOOLS EARN TEA GOLD PERFORMANCE ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

SPRING ISD – The Texas Education Agency (TEA) recently released the 2010-11 Gold Performance Acknowledgements, and 18 Spring ISD campuses earned one or more of the acknowledgments for high performance on indicators other than those used to determine accountability ratings. TEA awarded the following schools Commended and/or Comparable Improvement honors for their exceptional performance. Acknowledgments are as follows:

Anderson Elementary – Kathy Morrison, former principal, and Chad Schmidt, current principal, Commended Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) Performance in writing and science;

Bammel Elementary – Melissa Dean, principal Comparable Improvement in reading;

Beneke Elementary – Helen Livers, principal, Attendance, Commended TAKS Performance in reading, math and science, Comparable Improvement in reading;

Cooper Elementary – Leticia Gonzalez, principal, Commended TAKS Performance in science;

Hirsch Elementary – Shane Manning, principal, Commended TAKS Performance in science;

Hoyland Elementary – Cynthia Gomez, principal, Commended TAKS Performance in science, Comparable Improvement in reading;

Jenkins Elementary – Michelle Starr, principal, Comparable Improvement in reading;

Link Elementary – Kwabena Mensah, principal, Commended TAKS Performance in reading and math;

Meyer Elementary – Serena Pierson, principal. Commended TAKS Performance in reading, math and science, Comparable Improvement in reading;

Northgate Elementary – Debbie McIver, principal, Attendance, Commended TAKS Performance in reading, math and science, Comparable Improvement in reading and math;

Ponderosa Elementary – Debbie Graham, principal, Commended TAKS Performance in reading;

Reynolds Elementary – Carolyn Mayes, principal, Commended TAKS Performance in reading;

Salyers Elementary – Leticia Grounds, principal, Commended TAKS Performance in science;

Smith Elementary – Peggy Husky, principal, Commended TAKS Performance in reading and science, Comparable Improvement in math;
