TWO LOCAL WALLER ISD RESIDENTS RECOGNIZED FOR CAPTURING MEMORIES

By Marianne Kosik

WALLER ISD – Waller ISD recognized two amazing community members that have volunteered their time to make a difference in our community.

The Waller ISD School Board recognized David Roesner who is the founder of the website www.wallerbulldogsports.com, a Waller ISD parent and community member. Roesner created a beautiful website that contains a collage of various professional quality photographs of sporting events that are available to the community free of charge.

David’s love of photography was inherited by his father. When David played football at Katy High School, his dad loved attending the sporting events to see his son play. His dad took photos with a 35mm camera back before digital photography was invented. His dad would have double prints developed and would keep a copy of one set, and would send the extra set with him to school to share the memories of the game with his fellow teammates and their parents.

After graduation, David developed his own love for photography. David began to attend his own son’s sporting events and would capture his son’s and teammates photo memories over time. In 2009, David developed the wallerbulldogsports.com website and posted all of the digital photos that he took at the events to share with our Waller ISD community free of charge. Word got out about his talent and parents started asking for requests to take photos of their own child. Over time, David has captured hundreds of professional quality photographs at numerous Waller ISD sporting events and uploaded all of the photos onto his website. He tries to attend as many home game events as possible, even though his son is not on any of the teams. His statement on his website says “if you see me there, you will see it here.” The photos range from football, baseball, volleyball, softball, soccer, Waller County Fair etc.

Waller ISD parent and community member Ron Campbell was also recognized that same evening. Ron has two children at Waller High School, Corey a junior and Wesley a freshman. Just as David, Campbell is well-known for taking professional quality photographs and sharing them with parents. In November, Ron followed the Waller High School Marching Band to San Antonio to take photographs at the State Marching Contest. He, like David, has invested a lot of personal time and money to put smiles on the students and parents faces. Ron shares his digital photos with David and they are also is posted on David’s website.

Waller ISD honored the two spectacular gentlemen for their caring hearts and the positive impact they have on the Waller ISD community.
