Actor William Shatner, most known for his portrayal of
Captain James T. Kirk of the U.S.S. Enterprise in the Star Trek franchise of television
series’ and movies is being killed by Priceline.
For the past 14 years Shatner has delighted audiences and would-be travelers
seeking discounts as the Priceline Negotiator.
Now Priceline has decided to take a new tactic in promoting
its discount travel deals and rather than simply firing Shatner, they’ve
decided to kill him.
An ad will begin running next where Shatner’s “Priceline
Negotiator” character will die in a fiery bus crash. In the ad Shatner’s character saves a bus load of tourists from certain death in a bus teetering on the edge of a cliff.
After the passengers are off the bus the Priceline Negotiar hands a cellphone to a customer and says, “Save yourselves — some money” then the bus goes off the cliff and explodes
A fittingly dramatic send off for a man who has saved
the Earth, the Galaxy and the known universe on many occasions.
Captain James T. Kirk met his doom in a heroic death 18 years ago in the film Star Trek: Generations while in the course of, you know, saving the known universe.
