CYFAIR ISD — Thirteen CFISD elementary schools are among an elite group of schools to receive the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) HealthierUS School Challenge Bronze Award, recognizing excellence in nutrition and physical activity.
The following schools received the four-year distinction that will not expire until July 2015:
Ault Elementary School
Birkes Elementary School
Black Elementary School
Copeland Elementary School
Farney Elementary School
Hamilton Elementary School
Keith Elementary School
Moore Elementary School
A. Robison Elementary School
Sampson Elementary School
Swenke Elementary School
Warner Elementary School
Yeager Elementary School
To qualify for the Bronze Award, schools must meet a set of specific nutritional criteria outlined by the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service Department. The award recognizes food service programs for reinforcing the three Es for healthy living—education, exercise and eating right.
