CYPRESS FAIRBANKS MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL MAKES DONATION TO HOUSTON FOOD BANK

HOUSTON, TX– Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital donated nearly 1,700 pounds of food to the Houston Food Bank in 2011 to help people in need. The donation of cereals, pasta, fruit juices, canned fruits and vegetables, soups, and many other types of nonperishable foods were contributed for distribution throughout the Houston Food Bank’s 18-county service area in the greater Houston metropolitan region.

“We are dedicated to continuing our active role in promoting the health of our community and what better way to help achieve that than to provide food for our neighbors,” says Terry Wheeler, chief executive officer at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital. “As the number of people needing food continues to rise in our area, we are proud to support the Houston Food Bank in this important fight against hunger.”

In addition to making donations to the Houston Food Bank, Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital supports numerous other educational, civic and social services organizations, including Lone Star College, Cy-Fair Educational Foundation, American Heart Association, Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce, and Boys and Girls Country.
