MURRYSVILLE,
PA – (ANS)- Bible Discovery TV Network was
launched by the late Ron Hembree and his son, Rod, in April of 2009.
The vision for the network was to
develop a commercial free international television service designed
specifically to train Christians in the Bible and develop solid Biblically
literate leaders around the world.
“We wanted this service to be
available to everyone in the world,” Rod Hembree said.
Bible Discovery TV also uses
shortwave radio to reach into areas of the world that are not information
mature and lack Internet connections or mobile infrastructure.
When Ron Hembree passed away in June
of 2010, the parent ministry Good Friends Inc., best known as Quick Study TV,
moved Rod Hembree to President and recently acquired Focus 4 producer Kyle
Hembree, along with his wife Toni, from Cornerstone TeleVision in Pittsburgh,
PA to develop new and fresh programming that is exclusive to the BDTV service.
Bible Discovery TV Network has just
released an HTML5 protocol portal among its web-based applications on site.
“This means that every device
in every store no matter what format or operating system, will be able to watch
Bible Discovery TV 24/7 LIVE,” said Rod Hembree, President of the Network,
in a media release.
“With over 50 million iPads
being sold this year and over 400 million iPhones in the world today, the need
to reach the mobile community world-wide is strong and we are excited to add
the NRB Network along with WBPI and Cornerstone TeleVision Network to our list
of LIVE STREAMING services on the new html5 portal.”
“We expect to launch several
new series in Bible training and Bible apologetics shortly” said Kyle
Hembree, Sr. Director of BDTV.
Since Kyle joined the team, BDTV has
already launched a new program series to BDTV with leading speaker and
Apologetics teacher, Dr. Alex McFarland called Sound Rezn, and has secured the
SECRETS OF THE BIBLE series from Grizzly Adams Productions.
Rod Hembree reports that in January
2012 the network VOD, LIVE and YouTube services acquired over 400,000 viewers
with nearly
100,000 of them watching on mobile digital devices.
