ONLY RICK SANTORUM’S BOLD UNMISTAKABLE COLORS WILL DEFEAT OBAMA

In an email from Townhall.com Rick Santorum made a personal plea to
conservatives to join his efforts to gain the Republican nomination for
president. To prove the validity of supporting a genuine conservative, Santorum pointed to Ronald Reagan’s 1976
GOP Convention speech where Reagan told conservatives we must have a “banner of bold,
unmistakable colors, with no pale pastel shades.”

Reagan
lost the 1976 nomination to moderate Gerald Ford, and the Republicans lost the
White House to Jimmy Carter. The result
was weak foreign policy and economic disaster for the nation. Today, history is repeating itself. In 2008,
Republicans chose a moderate as their standard bearer, and Barack Obama was
elected.

The
results have been economic decline, joblessness at a post-depression high, home
foreclosures at historic levels, and an America that stands before its allies and
enemies as a weakened nation.  Now a hostage crisis is rapidly developing in Egypt.

Moreover Americans have a president who is determined to foist
Obamacare upon an unwilling public.
Religious Freedom has come under repeated and numerous attacks from the Obama Administration,
the latest involves forcing Catholic organizations to break long held
tenants of their faith in order to comply with HHS regulations requiring the
Catholic Church’s organizations to distribute birth control.

The issue
at hand is not about the right or wrong of birth control, it is about a clear
and hostile attack on Religious Freedom and the Constitution.

Those on the left who scream “Separation of Church and State” at the
sight of a manger scene on public property are silent, or like the ACLU, stand with the Obama
Administration as it openly attacks the Catholic Church.

This is a
time for choosing. Conservatives seem destined to
sell out based on the false narrative that only Mitt Romney can defeat Obama
in November.   It is a narrative started by GOP elites, buoyed by the mainstream media, and wholly endorsed by Barack Obama.  Or conservatives have the choice to change the course of our nation, to be bold and find victory behind Rick Santorum.

History
has proven that whenever conservatives hide in pale pastel shades, they
lose. Bob Dole, John McCain and Gerald
Ford are perfect examples.
When Conservatives vote their fundamental belief rather than
compromising for the false promise of safe victory, they ensure certain victory.

This election cycle has seen normally stalwart conservatives sit on the sidelines reluctant to buck the party while others who owe their positions of power to the TEA Party have turned their backs on conservative thought in order to support a moderate who shares very few basic beliefs with TEA Party voters.

Rick
Santorum’s sweep of Missouri, Minnesota and Colorado proves that conservatives
are still out there, and that they still want an anti-Obama alternative rather
than a slightly more moderate GOP version of the sitting president.

In
Santorum’s letter he notes that when Reagan sought the nomination, he was ridiculed
by the mainstream media as well as the elites of the Republican
Party. They got their candidate in ’76 in Gerald Ford
and lost the battle in Jimmy Carter’s election, with the result being four years of liberal ideology which generated a ripple effect that lingers today.

Four
years later Reagan would right the ship and turn around the nation’s economy,
put America in its rightful place as that “shining city on a hill” and in the
process destroy the Soviet Union without ever firing a shot.

Reagan did it by holding true to his conservative beliefs and by being bold in the defense of American exceptionalism.  His words “tear down this wall” ring throughout history and were spoken boldly, loudly and against all timid advice.

Only one candidate today is bold in his defense of America and conservative belief and that candidate is Rick Santorum.

Santorum
asks, “Will you join with me to support this vision for our party?
Will you support my campaign as we take this message across this great land?

“Will we choose a Conservative standard bearer to inspire our party and
America along with it?”

If you’ve ditched your belief in the hopes of victory, you should stop listening to the media and the GOP establishment and look at what is really happening as a ground swirl of conservative courage beginning to finally muster.  You should also realize once and for all that the notion that only Romney can possibly defeat Obama is a lie.

“All the momentum is on our side now,” Santorum said. “A Rasmussen survey over the
weekend revealed that there is only one Republican Presidential candidate who
would beat Obama if the election were today – and no, it wasn’t
the mushy moderate that wants you to believe that this race is over. No,
instead it’s me, Rick Santorum
, and our campaign – with
its bold, conservative ideas and platform.”

This is what is often referred to as a win-win situation wherein conservatives can elect a genuine conservative standard bearer and win the
race for the White House.

Rick Santorum is the only candidate left in the field whose conservative
credentials are established by a lifetime of behavior in both public office and private life. Santorum has the
experience, the knowledge and the bold conservative will to stop
Obamacare, restore America’s standing in the world, and put an end to
over-reaching federal regulations that threaten our most cherished freedoms as well as our
ability to create jobs.

Santorum ends his letter saying, “Just like President Reagan once said, we
can either preserve this nation as the last best hope on earth for our
children, or we can consign them to a thousand years of darkness, by leaving
America weaker than we found it.”

America is weakened today and a marginal change from a mushy-moderate won’t
make a difference, but a conservative painted in bold, unmistakable colors
will.
