THE WOODLANDS – Over 100 women attended “Pamper Me
Night” at the MD Anderson Regional Care Center in The Woodlands on
February 8. Sponsored by MD Anderson’s Breast Friends support group, “Pamper Me
Night” is a special evening held annually for women in the community diagnosed
with breast cancer.
Patients, survivors and their caregivers attended the event
led by 35 volunteers from the Woodlands community. Activities included
massages, makeovers, manicures, desserts, and donated gifts. Volunteer
cosmetology representatives were on hand to share make up tips and hand out
product samples.
“The physical and emotional toll of breast cancer can be
overwhelming,” said Dr. Pamela Schlembach, radiation oncologist at the MD
Anderson Regional Care Center in The Woodlands. “The Woodlands community came
together with our staff here at the Regional Care Center to provide a relaxing
atmosphere of sharing, support and strength for these special women.”
The event was held at St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital
where the MD Anderson Regional Care Center is located.
The Breast Friends support group meets every other Wednesday
