GOV. PERRY APPOINTS JACKSON TO STATEWIDE HEALTH COORDINATING COUNCIL

AUSTIN, TX – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Mabrie Jackson of Plano to the Statewide Health Coordinating Council for a term to expire Aug. 1, 2017. The council evaluates long-term local, regional and statewide health needs to develop workforce goals for health professionals.

Jackson is president and CEO of the North Texas Commission and North Texas Commission Foundation. She is an advisory board member of the University of Texas at Dallas School of Public Policy and University of North Texas School of Business, and a member of the North Central Texas Council of Governments Vision North Texas Management and Clean Air Steering committees. She is also a past member of the Plano City Council, Texas Municipal League, and National League of Cities, and past board chair of Collin County Child Protective Services.

Jackson received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
