CYPRESS, TX – Master Gardener and author Debra Prinzing will be at the Cy-Fair Home & Garden Show on Sunday, February 26 to talk about Garden Getaways, based on her book, “Stylish Sheds and Elegant Hideaways: Big Ideas for Small Backyard Destinations.”
Prinzing said that today when people build a backyard shed, their use of it may soon expand far beyond the original intent of potting up seedlings or storing tools. Any personal passion you wish to nurture can occur inside a diminutive piece of architecture in the garden.
“Today’s shed is no longer hiding in a far corner of the backyard. Instead, it occupies a starring role in the landscape. Gardeners are transforming this once-humble structure into a backyard sanctuary – a retreat, just steps from the back door. Sheds have become as individual as their inhabitants, but the best of them fulfill three needs: function, recreation and inspiration,” said Prinzing.
Prinzing’s talk will feature projects and designs – including several Texas backyard getaways.
Sunday, Feb. 26, 3:00 p.m. on the Green Stage at the Cy-Fair Home & Garden Show. Also, at 1:00 p.m., she will discuss local, sustainable floral ingredients.
