One the best definitions of insanity is to do
“the same thing over and over while expecting different results.” The GOP is well on its way to achieving insanity
again in the current presidential election cycle.
The rule goes something like this. Hit yourself in the head with a
hammer. Now do it again. Hurts doesn’t it? Now do it again with the
expectation that it
won’t hurt. How’s that working for you?
Bop! Ouch! Bop!
Ouch! Bop! Ouch! Do you really
think this pattern will change?
The GOP does.
Conservatives are currently bopping
themselves on the head by believing the false narrative that “only” Mitt
Romney can defeat Barack Obama in the general election in November.
Bop! Ouch!
History on the contrary shows that when
Conservatives refuse to compromise, they win.
When Conservatives refuse to stay home, they win. When Conservatives refuse to go pout in a
corner and instead go bold, they win.
The “Only Romney can win” narrative is being
fueled by the mainstream media and the elites of the Republican Party. This is the same narrative that said John
McCain could win. This is the same
narrative that said Bob Dole could defeat Bill Clinton.
Bop! Ouch!
Bill Clinton became President of the United
States of America twice without ever winning 50% or more of the vote. He did it because Conservatives pouted and
either stayed home, or worse still, voted for Ross Perot.
Bop! Ouch!
It was the 1980’s equivalent of today’s
Republican elites and the mainstream media who said Ronald Reagan could never
win. They all wanted the kinder, gentler
George H.W. Bush. But Conservatives found
their backbone and stood tall and Ronald Reagan’s bold Conservatism changed the
world.
Reagan freed the Iranian hostages just by raising his right hand and taking the
Oath of Office. Reagan ended the Cold
War without firing a shot and unapologetically re-established the USA as an
exceptional nation founded on the principals of freedom and liberty.
Now, we are told daily “Only Romney.” Worse than hearing it every day, we’re falling for it.
On Monday night’s The O’Reilly Factor,
blustery Bill put forth the notion that Rick Santorum’s stand for religious
freedom in the face of Barack Obama’s attempt to force faith-based organizations
to offer free contraception, free abortions and free sterilizations is helping
Santorum in the primary race.
The normally fair, no nonsense, Britt Hume
disagreed and echoed the MSM and GOP Elite’s position that Romney is the inevitable
nominee by disagreeing with O’Reilly and pointing to the upcoming votes in
Arizona and Michigan.
Hume said, “Romney is ahead in Arizona and
Santorum is only leading in Michigan by a few points.” It was a subtle jab at Santorum and a
revealing support for Romney despite the facts.
Fact:
Romney leads Santorum by only 3 points in
Arizona. Hume characterized this as “Romney
is ahead.”
Fact:
Santorum leads Romney by 4 points in
Michigan. Hume noted specifically that “Santorum
is only leading in Michigan by a few points.”
Reality:
Romney’s lead in Arizona is less
than Santorum’s lead in Michigan. Yet, the way Hume said it, the uninformed would
think that Romney held a commanding lead in Arizona while Santorum was barely
hanging on in Michigan.
It’s all part of the lie, part of the shaky narrative
supported by the GOP elite, the media and by Democrats.
Truth:
The Republican never wins when he is only slightly less liberal than his
Democrat opponent.
Moreover, the press constantly pushes the notion that Conservatives should be silent on social issues. Even Christian broadcasting icon Pat Robertson said on the 700 Club on Monday that the Republicans must avoid social issues like Santorum’s stand for Freedom of Religion.
The lie has bored its way into our minds in such a way that rather than standing for what we believe, we are now once again willing to compromise everything for the lie of electability.
Santorum is the only bona fide, bold Conservative
still standing. It’s time the TEA Party
and the core Conservatives in the GOP take a stand too. If they don’t…
Bop! Ouch!

Forget your two party system which does not prove valid in our current country climate. Ron Paul is the answer. And has been for many MANY years. Rick Santorum is the Obama equivalent of the “Republican” party….INEXPERIENCED. Elect the man that has ELECTABILITY and EXPERIENCE and POLICIES that are (common sense worthy) proven to work…… Dr. Paul is the answer to the two party system….get back to the basics and apply them to the current times. Don’t go outside the federal govt’s means.
