Wednesday 02/22/12
Winds may be strong enough to
generate light amounts of blowing dust in parts of the Panhandle and far
West Texas, but probably not enough to raise the daily PM10 AQI beyond
the “Good” range. Moderate to strong winds and low incoming background
levels should help to keep air quality in the “Good” range statewide.

Winds
may be strong enough to generate blowing dust in parts of the Panhandle
and West Texas, including the Lubbock and Midland-Odessa areas, in the
afternoon and evening that could possibly raise PM10 into the “Moderate”
range. Smoke from agricultural burning in Mexico and Central America
could move into South Texas and possibly raise PM2.5 to “Moderate”
levels. Elsewhere, moderate to strong winds and low incoming background
levels should help to keep air quality in the “Good” range.
Friday 02/24/12 Outlook
