REVIEW OF FATAL ILLUSIONS BY ADAM BLUMER

Synopsis: Gillian Thayer is struggling to heal from the death of her stillborn twins when she discovers a love letter addressed to her husband Marc, a pastor and  a counselor. Before she can confront her husband, her husband is shot and her world starts to crumble around her. After the shooting, Gillians family is forced to leave Chicago to escape the attention of the media.  Seeking to find refuge and hopefully healing, they move to Whistler's Point, a historic lighthouse on Lake Superior.  But they aren't the only newcomers to the tiny town of Newberry, Michigan. An accomplished killer and amateur magician, Haydon Owens is seeking a new life, but soon encounters another victim.

Review:  This book is magnificent! Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I'm definitely a new member of the Adam Blumer fan club. The book had a lot of action that never quite let up. Even at almost 400 pages I read this in a day and a half. The book never seems to slow down, so it's a quick read. One of the great things about this book was that it was a Christian murder mystery. Typically in this genre you get a certain amount of cussing or sex scenes. You get none of that here, just non stop action. This book also through some twists at me that I wasn't expecting, and believe me I'm not easily surprised by plot twists anymore. I'd put Fatal Illusions up against a James Patterson novel any day...it's that good! I'm definitely recommending this to anyone who likes a fast paced thrill ride of a book.
